There were some great recommendations and discussions thanks to last week’s guests! Before announcing the next week of guest posts, here’s a quick overview of what happened last week in case you missed anything:
- Brenda Cooper (Edge of Dark, The Creative Fire, The Silver Ship and the Sea) shared some of her favorite women science fiction writers.
- Mieneke (A Fantastical Librarian) discussed the representation of mature women in fantasy and asked for some recommendations. There are a lot of great recommendations for books with mature women in the comments, and my own to-read list will be expanding because of them!
- A. C. Wise (The Ultra Fabulous Glitter Squadron Saves the World Again, SF Signal’s Women to Read: Where to Start column) highlighted some women authors with wonderful recent or soon-to-be released debut novels.
- Tiara (The BiblioSanctum, DigitalTempest.net) discussed her lifelong love of science fiction and reviewed The Feminine Future: Early Science Fiction by Women Writers, a collection of short stories published between 1873 and 1930.
- Nicole Peeler (the Jane True series, Jinn and Juice) shared which of her favorite fictional characters she wanted to be when she grew up.
- I announced a giveaway for one book from the list of recommended science fiction and fantasy books by women. If you haven’t already done so this year, there’s still time to add up to 10 of your own favorites!
