This week was another huge week for books – I received 3 review copies, got 5 books as gifts from a friend, accepted one e-book review copy, and downloaded a free e-book offered to me by the author on Twitter. And now that I just finished The Native Star by M. K. Hobson for the Nebula Readathon I have no idea what to read next (especially since I really just want the sequel to The Native Star right now – […]
This week I received two review copies of books coming out in March. Dante Valentine: The Complete Series by Lilith Saintcrow This is a massive omnibus containing all five of the books in the Dante Valentine series: Working for the Devil, Dead Man Rising, The Devil’s Right Hand, Saint City Sinners, and To Hell and Back. Totaling around 1300 pages, the trade paperback edition containing the complete urban fantasy series may be a little too large to hold up well […]
First, a quick update: I’ve finished a draft of a review of Dust by Elizabeth Bear, so I’m hoping to get that up over the next day or two. Now that it’s almost time for Late Eclipses, the fourth October Daye novel by Seanan McGuire, to be released, I’m also working on that review and hope to have it up soon. First, a quick update on this week: I have another interview for you on Monday! This time it is with Elizabeth Bear, one of my favorite authors ever. I’m also working on a review of her novel Dust, so I’m hoping to have that up sometime over the next few days as well. I hope everyone enjoyed the interview with Freda Warrington (Part One | Part Two). I had a lot of fun learning more about her and am really […]
This week brought two books – one I bought for the Women of Science Fiction Book Club (and will be reading very soon since it’s for this month) and a finished copy of a book I already read as an ARC. Since I already posted about the ARC when I got it and will be posting the review very soon (probably tomorrow), I won’t include the description here. The finished copy I received is The Sea Thy Mistress, the third […]
This week I just got one book I bought myself (which was a serious exercise in self restraint since I actually went to the bookstore and looked around and saw many that I wanted to take home with me). I went to look for the February Women of Science Fiction Book Club selection, but they didn’t have it so I picked up another book in a series I’ve been wanting to continue that they did have. They did have the […]
